Walleye Stocking Program & the DNR
.Wall Lake Association wants to THANK the Indiana DNR and especially Matt Horsley and the staff at Fawn River Fishery.

We value what the state has done in working with the Association with the walleye stocking program over the past 20 years. What started as an experiment to improve the quality of fishing at the lake by both adding the walleye species while enhancing the quality and size of the bluegill population has really paid off in tremendous benefit for all the anglers at Wall Lake.
Historically and through to today, the leadership, professionalism, knowledge, and wisdom of Fish Biologists like Neil Ledet, Larry Koza and Matt Horsley have been of understated value in making the program of both high quality and cost effectiveness.

The program looks strong because in 2024, walleye caught by local anglers, measured and were released in 12”, 14”, 16” and a few in larger sizes up to a 24”. Now that is a generational program that is built for today and tomorrow. Wall Lake has a 16-inch minimum, two catch limit.
Thank You!
The pictures are from the 2025 stocking of 1400 walleyes ranging in size from 5 to 5 ½ inches. Stocked walleyes in good quality water will grow about 2 to 3 inches a year as long as they survive predators and have ample bait fish to eat.
